Three middle-aged women play boules on a stretch of grass made up of two horizontal green planes in Middle England. When the boule balls are examined attentively, the spectator notices that they are cannonballs with lighted fuses.
In reality, those women appear to be having a good time playing petanque, a popular afternoon recreation among the wealthy conventional senior class. The composition of this horizontal print, which clearly separates the participants while keeping them safe from the ignited fuses, is especially significant. Given that Banksy signed and numbered the bombs, one might conclude that he has chosen his side.
It is considered that those in authority are uncaring because they appear to throw bombs recklessly.
