Rebecca’s *Fontaine-Wolf fleur de nuit 1* proposes a contemporary nocturne in which mythic presence and botanical sensuality converge. Working with layered, gestural mark-making and a tightly controlled tonal range, the artist builds a surface that feels both fluid and animal—suggesting a fountain’s continual motion while invoking the archetype of the wolf as guardian, predator, and guide. Subtle transitions between shadow and bloom evoke night-flowering species and the politics of visibility: what is concealed, protected, or permitted to emerge after dark. Poised between figurative suggestion and abstraction, the work draws on European folklore and modern eco-conscious discourse, offering a psychologically charged meditation on nature’s resilience.
