Deborah Harris is photographed on location in Malaysia wearing a custom-designed mermaid’s tail by Bob Mackie for Town & Country in February of 1990. This story was photographer Norman Parkinson’s last shoot.
About the Artist
Sir Norman Parkinson (1913–1990) was a British portrait and fashion photographer whose four-decade career transformed the aesthetic of 20th-century magazine work. Shooting for Harper's Bazaar, Vogue and Town & Country, he took models out of the studio into landscapes, streets and factories — humanising fashion photography and paving the way for the modern editorial image.
