About This Work
Iman poses with Lucas Samaras’ sculpture Stiff Box #12 at the Patrick Lannan Foundation near Palm Beach, Florida in 1982. A muse of the designers Gianni Versace, Thierry Mugler, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, and Yves Saint Laurent, she was also married to rock musician David Bowie from 1992 until his death in 2016.
About the Artist
Sir Norman Parkinson (1913–1990) was a British portrait and fashion photographer whose four-decade career transformed the aesthetic of 20th-century magazine work. Shooting for Harper's Bazaar, Vogue and Town & Country, he took models out of the studio into landscapes, streets and factories — humanising fashion photography and paving the way for the modern editorial image.
